What is an opinion?

Why is it important to have an opinion?

What could happen if no one has an opinion?

What could happen if too many people have an opinion?

Do you have to have an opinion about everything?

What kinds of opinion can you have?

strong – showing strong feelings or opinions in the way that you speak or behave

neutral – not showing strong feelings or opinions in the way that you speak or behave

uncommitted – not willing or ready to support an idea, group, or person

impartial – not connected to or influenced by one particular person or group

(somewhere) in the middle – in the position of not having a particular opinion but not having the opposite opinion either

neutral – not supporting a particular side in an argument or disagreement

middle-of-the-road – middle-of-the-road opinions, attitudes, styles etc are not extreme

non-partisan – not supporting any political party

suggestible – easily influenced by other people

very bright

Scenario 1

Mrs Cosgray decides that all the WAB students should wear green uniforms from now on.

Scenario 2

Your Mother and Father decide that you are not going to go on a summer vacation this year.

Scenario 3

President Obama is coming to China, and he is coming to WAB… but only to the High School.
