Intro to the 5 reading tasks

blue_book

We are going to start reading groups soon. When we do, we will have to focus on certain things to improve our reading and comprehension ability. Here is what we are going to do.

Depending on your book, you may have to do these tasks either at the end of your book, or a few times as you read it in your groups.

You should try to do the things we have just talked about when you read books you have chosen for yourself.

NEXT BIG THING….. How do you choose a book that is just right for you?!

There are generally three levels of books – Easy, Just Right and Challenging.

Out of every ten books you should aim to read 3 easy, 5 just right, and 2 challenging books. What do each of these things mean?

EASY books – G3 copy

JUST RIGHT! books – G3 copy

CHALLENGING books – G3

The EASIEST fudge recipe EVER!

Crap.

Now that I’ve found it I won’t stop making it!

Please…. no hate mail about how I am ruining your resolve to lose weight 😉

Fudge

Ingredients (Basic recipe makes 8×8 inch pan)

1 (approx 14 oz – 370 g) can sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup butter (2oz – 57g)

3 cups chocolate chips (approx 18oz – 510g) either milk or semi sweet; or a mix of both!

You can also add chopped almonds, peanuts, walnuts, raisins, etc….

Directions

  1. Put the butter in a large microwaveable bowl. Melt the butter in the microwave first until clear. DO NOT ALLOW IT TO BURN!
  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips
  3. Zap in microwave on medium until chips are melted, about 3-5 minute, stirring once or twice during cooking. Stir in nuts if desired.
  4. Pour into well-greased 8×8-inch glass baking dish. Refrigerate until set.

I added a little red chilli pepper in one batch I made (keeping it Aztec style), and OMG! Too delicious for words!

If you have the time and/or inclination, you could divide the fudge mix into those cute little candy molds. I did this too. Real cute!
